Welcome to the Cultivating Wealth Blog. I’m Sara Stanich, a New York City-based Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP®) and independent financial adviser.
A big part of my job is to answer questions from clients about their financial lives, which is why this blog exists. This is the place where I can write about relevant finance topics, answer questions that crop up often, and share a little bit about myself and my team along the way.
Now, I’d like to take a minute to share a little bit about Cultivating Wealth, and what you can expect from this blog and if you decide to partner with us as your financial planning team.
Why Cultivating Wealth?
There are a few reasons behind the name “Cultivating Wealth.” First of all, most of my clients and I are definitely in the “wealth building” phase of our lives. We’re raising families, growing businesses, and enjoying fulfilling careers.
We’re fully engaged in our Brooklyn community, and we’re trying to organize and simplify our finances to make life a little easier.
Unfortunately, for those of us who are working to cultivate wealth, quality content and financial advice is tough to find.
There’s plenty of material available that targets Baby Boomers, or pre-retirees. You can hardly Google anything finance-related without finding some kind of blog post, podcast episode, or video clip about how retirees can master their money. But for families like mine, retirement is 30+ years away (if we want to follow the traditional retirement path at all). We’re busy dealing with mitigating the impact of taxes on above-average incomes, managing living expenses in a pricey area, and raising kids. We have different financial questions that can’t always be answered by a quick “how to” that’s geared toward retirees. That’s why I founded Cultivating Wealth – to help answer those questions, and to provide quality and comprehensive advice to women and families who are experiencing the same kind of financial roadblocks that I’m experiencing. I believe that we deserve quality financial advice, too – even if retirement part of our foreseeable future.
The Importance of Cultivating
Cultivating has another meaning for me, as well. I love gardening, and my family and I have a pretty successful vegetable garden for “city folk.” I find the whole process incredibly satisfying: planning the garden, planting the seeds, seeing them develop, and watching the results. I also believe that this process of cultivating applies to more than gardening. It applies to our finances and, on a broader scale, our lives. My team and I want to help you cultivate your wealth and, as a result, a full, flourishing life.
