In the last week of the year, it is my habit to look back on the past year and consider what happened and what I have learned.
We’ve all dealt with a lot of uncertainty this year (and spent a lot of time on the internet), which made a look at which articles were most read particularly interesting. Thanks to Google Analytics, we have the numbers!
Here’s a look at the top five.
1. How To Save $50,000 in a Year
Author: Sara Stanich
With unemployment up and financial uncertainty high, people were searching “How can we save $50,000 per year?” Well, a few years back, I did it myself and told my story.
2. Divorce and Your Money: How is Child Support Calculated?
Author: Sara Stanich
Many say there will be a post-quarantine “boom” in the divorce rate this year. That remains to be seen, but this article was very popular on our blog this year ….
3. Can You Afford Private School?
Author: Sara Stanich
Our team of moms is deeply familiar with the frustrations (dare I say rage?) of parenthood this year. This older article fits well with the questions and concerns parents are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Is private school an option? What are the opportunity costs and expenses? How do I get these kids out of my house? (that is a joke!)
4. Is It Time to Refinance Your Mortgage? Six Points to Consider
Author: Nannette Kamien
Real estate is definitely an important part of your financial plan, and it seemed like every client was considering real estate moves this year. There are many factors to consider before making that important decision. We aimed to shed light on a few different facets.
5. How to Get Paid Parental Leave if You’re Self-Employed
Author: Liz Sylvan
This year more than ever, many were forced to vacate their offices and create a makeshift workspace permanently from the warmth of their own home. But what happens if you have a child and you have now moved your business back to the house? How can you ensure paid parental leave? This article was published in 2018, but maybe there is not a lot of information available on the topic.
